Terms of Service

These Terms govern your use of the Penalty.kz website at penalty.kz, our mobile applications and any related services (together, the "Service"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Who we are

Penalty.kz is a football news outlet based in Astana, Kazakhstan. We publish news, analysis, match data and video about football in Kazakhstan and abroad, in the Kazakh language. You can reach the editorial office at info@penalty.kz or +7 (747) 565 4340.

2. Using the Service

You may read, share and link to our content for personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to:

interfere with the Service, its security or its availability, including automated scraping that places an unreasonable load on our servers;
attempt to gain access to areas of the Service that are not intended for you, such as the editorial admin panel;
use the Service for anything unlawful, or in a way that infringes the rights of others.

We may suspend access to the Service for anyone who breaks these rules.

3. Accounts

Some features, such as commenting, require an account. Accounts are created by signing in with Telegram; we do not ask you for a password. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. You may ask us to delete your account at any time by writing to info@penalty.kz.

4. Comments and other content you submit

You are responsible for what you post. Comments must not contain insults, threats, hate speech, obscenity, spam, advertising, private data of other people, or calls to violence or unlawful action. We moderate comments and may edit or remove any comment, or close commenting on a story, without prior notice.

By posting a comment you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to display it on the Service. You keep ownership of what you write.

5. Our content

Text, photographs, graphics, video and design published on the Service are protected by copyright and belong to Penalty.kz or to the rights holders we license them from.

You may quote our material provided that the quotation does not exceed a reasonable extent and is accompanied by an active, indexable hyperlink to the original page on penalty.kz. Full republication of our material, including translation, in print, on other websites or in social media accounts, requires our prior written permission.

6. Third-party content, embeds and links

The Service contains embedded posts and video from third-party platforms such as Instagram, X and YouTube, links to other websites, and sports data supplied by third-party providers. We do not control that content and are not responsible for it. Opening an embed or following a link means you are also subject to the terms and privacy policy of that third party.

Video of matches and goals published or linked on the Service belongs to the respective rights holders and is used under their terms or by linking to their official channels.

7. Our own social media accounts

We publish our own editorial content to our own official accounts on Instagram, Telegram, TikTok and YouTube. Those accounts are operated by our newsroom. Content published there is subject to these Terms as well as to the rules of the platform concerned.

8. Advertising

The Service carries advertising and may carry sponsored material, which is labelled as such. Advertisers are responsible for the content of their advertisements. Placing an advertisement does not mean we endorse the advertised product or service.

9. Notifications

If you opt in, we may send you push notifications about news and match events, in your browser or through our mobile application. You can turn notifications off at any time in your browser or device settings.

10. Availability and disclaimer

The Service is provided "as is". We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, and sports data, line-ups, scores and statistics supplied by third-party providers may contain errors or be delayed.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the Service, from reliance on information published on it, or from the unavailability of the Service.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

13. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
